Throughout the year, The Sophia Way has a number of events to help raise money and awareness of the issue of homelessness in East King County. You are welcome to attend any (or all) of these events. For more information on events, please contact Lisa (lisatran@sophiaway.org).

Symetra Bellevue Family Fourth
The Eastside’s Largest 4th Of July Celebration

Symetra Bellevue Family FourthHave plans for July 4th? If you’re looking for a fabulous fireworks show, great food, activities for the kids and musical entertainment, look no further! Symetra’s Bellevue Family 4th offers it all, AND MORE!

Prior to the fireworks show, The Sophia Way will have a booth at Symetra’s Community Spotlight Pavilion. The Community Spotlight Pavilion connects event attendees to local nonprofit organizations and volunteer opportunities. The Sophia Way will showcase our program with interactive displays and speak with members of the community about ways in which they can assist in ending homelessness for women in our community. Stop by our table and say hi!

The Sophia Way Volunteer Appreciation at the Seattle Storm Game!

WNBA Seattle StormThe Sophia Way is hosting a Volunteer Appreciation event Sunday, July 8th at the Key Arena! Volunteers, both past and present, are invited to join us for a night of fun as the Seattle Storm take on the Phoenix Mercury. This night is meant to show how grateful The Sophia Way is for our volunteers- how much their time and service has contributed in our mission to assist homeless women in our community.

This game is a giveaway night and will also be a send-off for Seattle Storm players who will be playing on the U.S. Women’s Olympic Team at the London Olympics, so this game promises to be a night of great basketball and fun!

Summer Outdoor Movies
The Sophia Way featured at Summer Outdoor Movies in the Park

The Summer Outdoor Movies in the Park is an annual event presented by Intelius and Bellevue Parks and Community Services. This free event benefits non-profit organizations in King County who are committed to serving the basic needs of those in our community. The eight screenings will serve as a donation drive, providing much-needed supplies and cash donations for the nonprofits. Support your local community by bringing cash and item donations in lieu of admission cost!

Intelius has been kind enough to feature The Sophia Way for the July 10th movie Puss in Boots. As the local organization focus for the night, the Sophia Way will have the opportunity to educate the community on homelessness and The Sophia Way’s mission as well as the opportunity to receive donations from the community.

Family-friendly movies will be projected on to a massive 40-foot outdoor screen at beautiful Bellevue Downtown Park. Popcorn and other FREE concessions will be available to all movie-goers.

Bring a blanket, a snack and even the dog! Lawn chairs are allowed in marked areas only. See you this summer in Bellevue Downtown Park!

Fall Luncheon

Please join us for our Fall Luncheon in September as we celebrate our continuing efforts to ease homelessness for women on the Eastside.
