Sophia Way Support Network is a
group of people, most representing a congregation or
other larger group, who gather once a month to share
news about the Sophia Way and work together to meet
the needs of homeless women in East King County.
The commitment required has two parts:
First, to
attend a one hour meeting once a month, typically on
the fourth Tuesday of the month, at noon, at
The Sophia Way in downtown
Bellevue. Or, alternatively, keep connected by
email to receive minutes and information.
Second,
share the information given at the meetings or
through email and communicate to your group or
congregation ways to get involved. You choose what
you think will resonate with your group. Prepared
bulletin blurbs and inserts are often provided, but
you are always free to craft your own.
We provide a wide range of
opportunities, and different ones appeal to
different groups. There is no pressure to fundraise
or to take on any particular task. We find that
different work appeals to different people and the
wider our audience, the more likely we are to find
just the right person.
The ideal Support Network member has a passion to
end homelessness, an open mind to hear the stories
of Sophia Way’s challenges and triumphs, and a
willingness to share this message with others.
